If the sensors detect that this device is falling, they will send a signal to the “electronically adjustable locking mechanism” to quickly fold the phone. Thus, the fall will have an effect on the edges of the device instead of the screen.

According to the data issued by the patent, the company may resort to using sensors that measure acceleration and determine direction in order to protect the expected new device.
